Sunday Stillness – Restore and Rebalance with Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra
Sunday 25th April 2026, 6- 8pm at Coombes Community Centre
Join me for the first Sunday Stillness of 2026!
As we settle into new routines after the holidays and the Winter Solstice, let’s honour the ‘stirrings’ taking place deep in Mother Earth. The Celtic festival of Imbolc, on 1st February, marks the start of Spring. At this time we begin to witness nature’s slow return to life.
After the Winter’s sleep it is time to reawaken. From rest and rejuvenation, nature (and ourselves) can gradually blossom again, after the hibernating season.
We will attune to this slow flourishing of nature of Imbolc, by practising conscious rest, releasing tension and turning inwards.
With the slow practice of Yin, we invite the body and mind to the present moment, practising mainly floor based poses in a mindful way whilst cultivating kindness towards ourselves.
During these two hours we aim to:
- begin by releasing deeply with the practice of Yin Yoga, balancing our bodies and minds
- practice pranayama (breathing techniques)
- enjoy a short meditation.
This will leads us to the practice of Yoga Nidra.
New to Yoga Nidra?
This is an effective, safe and easy to practice guided meditation/ relaxation, that works with the deeper layers of our being (the Koshas). Yoga Nidra is practised lying down in Savasana (relaxation pose), although it can be practised seated, too. Its benefits are cumulative and easily palpable: you’ll come out feeling lighter, energised, with the mind clearer.
Who is Sunday Stillness for?
This session is open to all levels and is for anyone looking to release tensions with Yin Yoga, to relax deeply and reenergise, as well as those who would like to align their practices with the rhythms of the seasons.
You’ll rediscover balance while deepening your personal practice.
You’ll leave feeling rejuvenated, more present and relaxed, ready for the week ahead.
