Come back to yourself and away from the holiday frenzy!

We’re excited to be offering this gathering to help raise funds for Jimmy’s Cambridge, who offer support for those experiencing homelessness.

Join us to mark the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year. We welcome the return of the light and the longer, lighter days ahead of us.

This time of the year is a great chance to reflect on what has been and what lies ahead. As the Earth reaches its standstill point, we can also pause to offer thanks, to honour, reset and align with nature’s cycles.

The longest night is an invitation to go within and spend some restorative, relaxing time on the mat, with passive long held poses, as offered by Yin Yoga.

So join us for a mix of movement with Kundalini Yoga to let go, release and increase our radiance, followed by finding comfort and ease with Yin Yoga, for stillness and quiet acceptance.

During the workshop we’ll explore: mantra meditation, journaling, cacao, a guided deep relaxation with sound and more!

With the onset of winter we can feel a bit despondent and overwhelmed, we have the tools and  the choice whether to succumb to overwhelm or we can pause and reset, coming back to our inner essence feeling stronger, more balanced and more peaceful.

We will finish with some light refreshments (optional) and herbal teas. Details will be sent closer to the time.

Sacred ceremonial cacao will be available for those who wish to try it. So we can prepare the correct amount, we ask those who would like it to choose the option that states ‘cacao drink’, with the additional £3.00 to enjoy the experience.

What is cacao? Ceremonial cacao is considered a psychoactive medicine because it leads to shifts within the consciousness, while still being fully grounded in your body.

When purchased from a good trusted source, it is considered the world’s number one superfood.

Cacao, unlike other plant medicines, works with your cardiovascular system – this is why she is often referred to as the ‘heart opener’. It’s high in theobromine, which is a natural stimulant which will increase your heart rate, blood pressure, circulation throughout the body.

It is low in caffeine and high in theobromine, which means that the benefits of drinking cacao last longer without the fuzziness you can feel from caffeine.

Cacao contains the “Bliss chemical” (Anandamide) and is the only plant that contains this chemical, it also contains the “Love chemical” (Phenylethylamine) – this means it is a natural antidepressant.

High in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals; rich in iron and magnesium.

Contraindications:

Those who have a heart condition or currently taking antidepressants should avoid drinking cacao.

If you are taking any medication, please consult your doctor before ingesting the cacao.

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or are sensitive to caffeine and stimulants you should consult your doctor.

Arrival and settling: Doors open at 2:50pm for 3pm start. Use door on the left of the building.

Car park at venue.

We hope you can join us for this auspicious date, in community, to honour the return of the light.
